Arika McClellan
Director
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Arika moved to Fort Collins in 2009 and quickly made it her permanent home. Inspired by her mother, Shelly, she developed a deep love and respect for animals of all kinds from an early age.
Arika graduated from Front Range Community College in 2013 with a degree in Veterinary Technology and brings valuable clinical experience to her work in rescue. She began fostering for Colorado Kitty Coalition in 2014, and in 2018, assumed full leadership of the organization following the founder’s retirement. Under her direction, CKC has grown significantly, with adoptions increasing year after year.
In her free time, Arika enjoys spending time at home with her husband & watching reality TV. She has a rescue dog Etta, a Pit Bull named Denzel, and 4 rescue cats—Mac, Phoebe, Delilah, and Houdini.
Megan was born in Virginia, where her love of animals began at a very young age. She later moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where she spent her middle school and high school years volunteering at the local animal shelter. After relocating to Fort Collins, Megan quickly fell in love with the town—and like many others, plans to stay for good!
Megan began fostering for Colorado Kitty Coalition in 2018, has adopted a few CKC alumni herself, and in 2022, took on the role of processing adoption applications. She plays a key role in ensuring that each cat finds the perfect forever home.
Outside of her work with CKC, Megan enjoys boating with her husband and three boys and spending quality time at home with her cats—Julius, Olivia, Kevin, Ember and Atlas—and their two dogs, Orion and Luna.

Shelter Management
Victoria graduated from Colorado State University in 2025 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is now continuing her education through the Veterinary Professional Associate (VPA) program. Her love for animals and fostering began in Ukraine, where her family is originally from, and has only grown stronger over the years.
Becoming part of Colorado Kitty Coalition has been an incredibly rewarding experience for Victoria. Being surrounded by passionate people and seeing firsthand the difference rescue work makes has deepened her commitment to animal welfare. Every foster, every adoption, and every life saved has made her journey with CKC unforgettable.
At home, Victoria shares her life with her two cats, Cosmo and Nova, and continues to foster whenever she can—helping even more cats find their happily-ever-afters.
Our Tail So Far
Colorado Kitty Coalition started with a "simple" goal: to give every cat and kitten a real chance at a better life. Tucked away in the foothills of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, our foster-based rescue grew from a few passionate people into a thriving community of cat lovers, all working toward the same goal — saving lives.
We focus on rescuing cats from tough situations — strays on the streets, overcrowded shelters, and homes that can no longer care for them. With over 100 fosters and 50+ volunteers by our side, we make sure every cat gets the medical care, socialization, and love they need to heal and thrive. We believe cats do best when they're treated like family, so when we can, we try to keep them out of kennels.
In 2024, something incredible happened: we opened our first shelter. It was a dream come true, and it allowed us to grow faster than we ever imagined. Today, we're helping hundreds more cats each year, taking in more emergencies, and finding more happy endings than ever before.
Our work wouldn’t be possible without incredible veterinary partners like Blue Sky Animal Clinic, who help ensure every cat we rescue gets the expert medical care they deserve. Their team shares our commitment to giving these animals a fresh start, and we’re grateful to have them by our side.
You’ll still find many of our kitties in foster homes, but now you can also meet some at our new shelter or at our partner, NoCo Cat Café in Loveland. Wherever you meet them, you’ll see the same thing — cats who were given a second chance and the people who believed they deserved it. We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and even more excited for all the lives still ahead of us. Thank you for being part of our story.
