Adoption Information

Once your application is approved, you will receive an email with next steps. You will meet the kitty in their foster home or the shelter and can take them home same-day as long as the adoption fee is paid and you have a carrier to transport them home.

If you are adopting from the NoCo Cat Cafe, you can meet them during business hours throughout the week but adoptions are finalized on Saturdays.

You must be 21 years old to adopt.

We follow this age requirement because adopting a cat is a long-term commitment that comes with financial responsibility, stable housing, and the ability to make legal decisions for the pet’s care. At 21, most adopters can meet these expectations independently and provide a safe, reliable home.

Yes! Renters are absolutely welcome to adopt. We simply require landlord approval to ensure pets are allowed in your home and that there are no breed, size, or species restrictions that could affect the cat’s safety or your housing situation.

You have 7 days to schedule and complete a meet-and-greet with the foster. Once you've met the cat, you’ll have 24 hours to let us know whether you'd like to move forward with the adoption. This allows us to keep things moving efficiently and ensures that our cats spend as little time in limbo as possible. If we don’t hear from you within the 24-hour window, we may move on to the next interested applicant.

• Spay or neuter surgery

• FVRCP vaccines (1–3 doses depending on age)

• Rabies vaccine (if old enough)

• Microchip with lifetime registration

• Flea treatment (If needed)

• Deworming (roundworms, tapeworms, etc.)

• FIV/FeLV testing (if over 4 months old

• Vet exams and follow-ups

• Treatments and medication for various illnesses
  

Adoption fees are NON-refundable. If the adoption doesn’t work out, your adoption fee will be used as a donation for the rescue, which is the only way we can continue our mission! That being said, we ALWAYS welcome our cats back if circumstances change. When we rescue them, we are rescuing them for life. We want them safe and cared for, no matter what

We encourage open conversations PRIOR to adoption to ensure a great fit and are here to support you afterward as well

Yes! If you adopt two cats, you’ll receive $50 off the total adoption fee. This helps bonded pairs stay together and gives more cats a chance to find loving homes.
